Virtual Session: Local Government Finance in Uncertain Economic Times

The recent change in presidential administrations has created much uncertainty for local governments. In this interactive session, participants will hear about the current economic environment and potential changes to the local government funding and tax structures. The session will include breakout rooms where participants can share best practices with their peers across the country.

This virtual session is part of the NACCTFO - Wayne State University certification program in public administration. By attending, participants will earn credits toward their certification. Details about the program are available here.

Instructor: Eric Lupher
President of the Citizens Research Council of Michigan, privately funded, not-for-profit public affairs research organization. A nationally-recognized expert on local government finance, he has been president since September of 2014. Eric is a past president of the Governmental Research Association and also served as vice-chairman of the Governmental Accounting Standards Advisory Council (GASAC), an advisory body for the Governmental Accounting Standards Board (GASB), representing the user community on behalf of the Governmental Research Association. Eric holds a B.A. in International Relations from James Madison College at Michigan State University and a Masters in Public Administration from Wayne State University.
